By Mark Tracey The death sentence is just more of the same disregard for life. When a society can choose to kill a citizen , the reason for such punishment can be easily rationalized. There are lesser sentences that are more appropriate.

By Mark Tracey That’s the Old Testament biblical remedy. Let me suggest that life time incarceration is generally cheaper and a more effective deterrent. It also prevents the state from having the precedent of legal killing of citizens at will. The death penalty could easily be expanded by the government to cover a multitude of political crimes in times of stress and crises.

By Dan Anderson Guy - No, abortion is not murder. There is no killing of a sentient being with abortion.

As for the issue of "letting the children die in the hot car", do you really think that the father intended to do so?

Intent is the issue which gave him the charge of Manslaughter and not Murder.

By Dan Anderson Guy - YOur comment regarding abortion, no, it is NOT a baby. At the most, it is potentially to become a baby, but not yet as it is not sentient, or by any other legal definition.

If you are so against abortion, why are you not writing a bill to submit to your congressman to make abortion illegal, instead of just making spurious claims? If you are so certain of your issue, do something about it, for god's sake.

As for the issue of the two children who died in the car, with your example of hitting me with your car, if I ran out in front of your car and you hit me, then yes, that would be manslaughter. It seems you need a quick course in linguistics in the English legal jargon.

By Dan Anderson Guy - the fetus is still NOT biologically nor legally classified as a human baby. Again, at best, they have the potential of becoming a human baby eventually, yet you still do not even explain about miscarriages. Do you think the mother should be brought up on murder charges if they miscarry?

By Mark Tracey A fetus is a biologically unique individual within the mothers body. Although it is not fully formed it has all the characteristics found in all . There is no way to know if the fetus is sentient or not in the early stages of development, but that is not the criteria for judging humanness. Abortions also has a racist history an Margret Sanger, the historical leading advocate for abortion , was not only a Eugenicist, but a racist.

By Dan Anderson Mark - Still waiting for citations to prove your comments and attempted insults.

If you are so against abortions, why are you not joining with Guy and writing a congressional bill to submit to your congressman/woman to make abortion illegal?

By Mark Tracey Much of what I wrote is opinion, what is not, can be easily searched if your curious. I do in fact work to limit abortion but as a citizen you know that I cannot present a bill to Congress, but only lobby my Senator and House Representatives to do so. I saw no attempted insult to you in my last comment, perhaps you could point it out.

By Dan Anderson Mark - When you state something as if it is fact, then it can be taken as such. You NEVER said that it was your opinion.

Apparently, you did not read my message very well regarding submitting a bill to your congressman/woman. You CAN do that. He or she submits it to Congress for approval or otherwise. I never said that YOU submit it to Congress.

Thank you for finally admitting you were giving your OPINION instead of stating legal definitions.

By Dan Anderson No, Guy - a baby is a product from having sex. If you believe that God creates the baby as a gift, then show ANY empirical evidence for your claim. Start, first, by proving ANY of the myriad deities exist. Then, please show how your deity makes babies, which has nothing to do with the sexual act.

By Guy St Onge LOL wow Dan, you mockers of God.. A baby is a living human being, to kill it in any way shape or form is MURDER!!

God made man and woman have sex for procreation, not for the reason of just having sex.. .
You are a perversion to God the way you stand at this time. I hope you repent before its too late for you.. Free will no force..

By Dan Anderson Guy - Apparently, you have never studied the bible, but at best, skimmed through it, because if you had actually studied it, you would know that the Bible even states that it becomes a baby "at its first breath". What YOU are claiming is that a zygote or a fetus is a baby, which it is not. It is, at best, with the potential to BECOME a baby later on.

Did I "mock God"? Which of the more than 3,000 beliefs of a deity are you talking about? The God of Abraham, as worshipped by Muslims, Christians, and Jews? I am mocking no deity at all. I am asking you to prove your claim. Show us how God took the time to make a baby and that it has nothing to do with being a product of having sex with one sperm and one egg meeting and developing.

Repent? For what? Any "sin" against another that I have knowingly done, I apologize to the one(s) I may have harmed or hurt. Anything else, nothing for which to apologize. Now, as for you, how often do you repent? Given how many hateful comments you make, I hope for your own self-gratifying feeling of peace, that you pray for forgiveness by repenting constantly.

Speaking of sin, are you aware that prior to the KJV1611, the term "sin" was not even in any of the holy books known as bibles, whether it be the vulgate or other versions? It is a middle-English archery term which is defined as "missing the mark", which would be called out by the scorekeeper if the archer missed the target/mark. Now, are you going to tell me that I am evil for defining the term in the Bible which you did not know?

By Dan Anderson If you had read and studied the Bible, why is it you did not know what your religion teaches about when a fetus becomes a baby?

I suppose you are also going to claim that the Bible does not demand that apostates demand being killed, too, right?

Given that the Bible is just as much "God's words" as is the Bhagavad Gita, the Qur'an or the Upanishads, why should I believe you with your claim based ONLY from your faith-based belief without any empirical evidence?

I am still waiting for you to show ANY empirical evidence for the God of Abraham.

By Dan Anderson Guy - I have attempted, however, have found absolutely no empirical evidence. I asked you for any empirical evidence, but you have given nothing.

If my mind is very narrow, then why have I spent since I became an adult in 1970 studying the many religions of the world, including yours.

So, obviously, it is you who lacks seriously.

If you decide to start offering facts and truths, then please feel free to write. Until then, good luck with all of the other writers who see through your pettiness and rants.
